The biggest campground in this corner of the forest — 49 sites at 8,600 feet where the West Branch of the Laramie River meets the Laramie itself.
First-come, first-served, $28 per night, typically open June 12 – October 11. Potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables and fire grates. Spurs to roughly 40 feet (the Forest Service page quotes 25–70 feet — call the district at 970-295-6600 if you’re bringing something long).
Stage 2 fire restrictions are in effect (USFS Order #02-10-05-26-09, July 2 – Dec 31, 2026). Campfires and charcoal are prohibited — including in developed campgrounds. Camp stoves with an on/off valve are still allowed. Check current restrictions before you go.
Getting there: it is not on Highway 14 — head 7 miles north up CR 103 (Laramie River Road) from the Highway 14 junction near Chambers Lake.
Nearby: the West Branch Trailhead (#960) and Rawah Trailhead (#961) — the main doors into the Rawah Wilderness.
