The highest campground on this list — 10,220 feet, up by Long Draw Reservoir near the crest of Cameron Pass. Nine walk-in, tent-only sites; no RVs.
9 tent sites, first-come, first-served, $25 per night, 8 people per site. Season runs July 1 – November 15. Potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables, tent pad and fire grate.
Stage 2 fire restrictions are in effect (USFS Order #02-10-05-26-09, July 2 – Dec 31, 2026). Campfires and charcoal are prohibited — including in developed campgrounds. Camp stoves with an on/off valve are still allowed. Check current restrictions before you go.
Getting there: Long Draw Road (FSR 156) is unpaved — 12 miles south off Highway 14 at about mile 51. The road season is July 1 – November 30, and deep snow often keeps it shut until around the Fourth of July.
