Our Manifesto

The Mountain Belongs to Everyone Who Works It.

When I built RedFeatherLakes.us, I had one very specific mission in mind: to level the playing field.

For too long, getting visibility for a small business in a rural mountain town meant relying on who you knew, how long you’ve been here, or navigating outdated local gatekeeping. That doesn’t build a strong local economy. That builds a closed loop.

I believe that whether your family has been in Larimer County for five generations, or you just opened your doors five days ago, you deserve an equal opportunity to thrive. You deserve to capture the tourism dollars coming up the canyon.

That is why the digital infrastructure we are building at RedFeatherLakes.us is radically open.

It is why the Local Business Directory is 100% free to claim and customize.

It is why our new Local Job Board is completely free for any business to post on, and any resident to use.
It is why we enforce a strict “Zero Corporate Banner (aka Google) Ads” policy, so independent artisans don’t get drowned out by outside money.

We don’t play favorites. We don’t do pay-to-play visibility. We don’t care about town politics.

If you chop the wood, run the register, clean the cabins, or keep the lights on in this community, this platform was built for you. We are here to support every local business and every resident, full stop.

Let’s keep the money on the mountain, and let’s get back to work.
