The turn into Long Draw Campground, Roosevelt National Forest.

Long Draw Campground sits high in the upper Poudre Canyon, off Long Draw Road in the Roosevelt National Forest, close enough to Long Draw Reservoir to walk down and watch the light change on the water.
It is only open for a brief window in late summer. At this elevation the season is short, the nights are cold, and the air is thin and clean. The sites are cut into lodgepole pine and spread out rather than lined up, each with a picnic table and a fire ring.
Getting here: Long Draw Road is a rough forest road, and the drive is part of the experience. Give yourself more time than the mileage suggests.
Before you go: fire restrictions in this corridor change through the season, and a fire ring at your site does not mean fires are permitted. Check the current fire restrictions before you travel.
