Profile
Drala Mountain Center sits on 600 acres of native forest and meadow at 7,500 feet, and it is a sanctuary in the fullest sense of the word. It is home to the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya, one of the most remarkable examples of sacred Buddhist architecture outside Asia — powerful to sit inside, and just as striking seen from the miles of trails around it. Programs run from guided group retreats in yoga, mindfulness, creative writing, eco-dharma and silent meditation, through to self-guided solo retreats where you set your own rhythm of hiking, journaling and contemplation. Lodging spans seasonal platform tents and rustic shared dorms up to Lodge junior suites with private baths, and every stay includes three scratch-made meals a day, with omnivore, vegetarian and vegan options.
