Place Category: Campgrounds
Big Bend is a small, first-come, first-served Forest Service campground tucked along the Cache la Poudre River on Highway 14, about 39 miles up the Poudre Canyon from Ted’s Place. At 7,700 feet, it keeps eight sites — three of them walk-in tent sites — each with a tent pad, fire grate, bear locker and picnic table. There is a vault toilet and drinking water on site. It’s managed by the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, and sites fill fast in summer since none can be reserved.
