⛔ CLOSED FOR ALL OF 2026. Jacks Gulch was heavily damaged by the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire and, per the Forest Service, “will remain closed until rebuilt.” Reconstruction is underway — contractor bids closed in June 2026 and construction is planned to begin this year. No reopening date has been announced. Do not plan a trip here; the Forest Service’s own page still lists fees and amenities alongside the closure notice, which is easy to misread.
When it does reopen, Jacks Gulch is the big one on the Pingree Park corridor: 70 sites at 8,100 feet across the Columbine loop (27 electric sites plus 10 walk-in tent sites), the Yarrow loop (28 non-electric), and 5 equestrian sites with four horse stalls each. Fees were $30 non-electric / $40 electric, with spurs to about 50 feet, potable water, vault toilets, bear lockers and tent pads. Certified weed-free hay is required for stock.
Getting there: US‑287 north 10 miles, west on CO‑14 about 26 miles, then south on CR 63E about 6 miles — roughly 48 miles northwest of Fort Collins.
In the meantime: Tom Bennett Campground is the only campground still open on the Pingree Park corridor.
